Ms. Joseph served as President, Chief Operating Officer and member Board of Directors of TSYS, a global leader in payment solutions. In her role with TSYS, Ms. Joseph oversaw all business lines and directed creation of a global product division. Prior to that, Ms. Joseph was Vice Chairman of U.S. Bancorp Payment Services. She joined U.S. Bancorp in 2001 through the acquisition of Elavon, a global payment processing company, where she was president and chief operating officer.
Before joining Elavon in 1994, she served with Visa International as director over new market development. Prior to her tenure with Visa, Joseph worked in the banking industry for more than eight years with Wells Fargo Bank.
In addition to ConnexPay, Ms. Joseph is a member of the Board of Directors of TransUnion, a publicly traded consumer credit reporting agency and Paychex, a publicly traded provider of payroll, human resource and benefits outsourcing. She is also on the Board of Trustees of Spelman College a global leader in the education of women of African descent, and chair of Women Leaders in Action, a nonprofit organization that helps educate young women in Africa.
Ms. Joseph holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Mr. Buffington is co-founder and CEO of BIP Capital, a venture capital firm recognized as one of the most active and successful in the Southeast. In addition, he has co-founded three successful companies over the course of his career.
Since founding BIP Capital, Mark has led investment rounds in more than 35 companies in a number of market verticals, including Healthcare IT, Digital Media, Ed Tech, Enterprise SaaS and FinTech. Notable exits include Vendormate, Ingenious Med, Shareholder InSite and Aspirion Health Resources.
Mark also pioneered a new business model in the wealth management space that led to the creation of BIP Wealth, one of the fastest growing wealth management firms in the country, currently managing over $850 million in assets.
Mark serves on the board of directors of several companies, including the NFHS Network, AchieveIt, Excel Health, PlayOn! Sports, UserIQ and ConnexPay. He also serves on several nonprofit boards, including KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools and the Georgia Tech College of Computing.
Mark graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology (where he lettered as a varsity baseball player) and also has an MBA from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University.
Ms. Polsky is currently a Partner and the Co-Chair of the financial services transactions practice at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP.
As co-chair of Manatt’s financial services transactions practice, Ms. Polsky has extensive experience representing numerous domestic and foreign banks, financial holding companies, savings associations and mortgage and other specialty finance companies in a wide range of corporate, finance and securities transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory and compliance matters. Ms. Polsky regularly represents financial institutions in connection with enforcement actions relating to capital, asset quality, management, compliance and other issues. Her practice includes regular interaction with federal and state regulatory agencies, including the SEC, OCC, Federal Reserve, FDIC, and the California Department of Business Oversight. She also frequently lectures at investment banking and commercial banking seminars on mergers and acquisitions, bank capital augmentation and compliance matters.
Ms. Polsky previously served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of City National Corporation and City National Bank and Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Aames Financial Corporation.
Ms. Polsky holds bachelor and law degrees from the University of Michigan.
Prior to founding ConnexPay, Bob was the General Manager of the Virtual Pay division of U.S. Bank overseeing product, marketing, and supplier enablement for all virtual payment solutions, as well as a virtual pay focused sales team.
In total, Bob spent 18 years at U.S. Bank, as well as five years as CFO of a technology company in Minnesota. His tenure at U.S. Bank included the position of CFO for the Payment Services division as well as Senior Vice President, leading innovation projects that spanned across the bank’s Payments division.
In his free time, Bob and his family enjoy spending weekends at a local NASCAR-affiliated Speedway that he co-owns, or at a hockey and training center that he owns in Stillwater, Minnesota. Bob is a CPA and CMA, received his bachelors in accounting from the University of Minnesota and Master’s degree in finance and strategic management from the University of Chicago GSB.
Jacob brings more than 15 years of diversified financial services experience to ConnexPay. As a former financial services industry investment banker, he regularly served as an adviser to commercial banks, financial technology, payments, and specialty finance companies. Jacob maintains strong ties to the U.S. commercial banking industry and is director of County Bancorp (Nasdaq: ICBK) and its subsidiary Investors Community Bank.
Prior to ConnexPay, he was director of corporate development and new ventures for a highly successful corporate payments company. Jacob previously served as head of the financial services practice for a boutique global investment bank with more than $3 billion in assets under management, and as head of capital markets for a national broker-dealer serving community and regional banks.
Early in his career, Jacob was an equity partner at a successful payments company, where he served as its director of sales and operations. Jacob holds a B.A. from DePaul University in Chicago and is an Eagle Scout and Lifetime Member of the National Eagle Scout Association.
